Acacia C is the conception of Brian Freedman, an Atlanta-based craftsman of “lifestyle art”, defined as artistic and sculptural creations that work to maintain a commitment of utilization and practicality. Brian works with locally sourced cedar, carving uniquely individual designs that highlight both the natural elements of each piece of wood and what beauty can be discovered beneath the surface. Our brand is dedicated to bringing the warmth and beauty of handcrafted woodwork into every home, and create opportunities to engage with each, during the process of life.
MEET THE DESIGNER
Brian Freedman, "B-Free", is the founder of Acacia C. The journey into this artistic expression was born first out of his affinity and connection to trees. It was the Acacia tree in Africa that first inspired that sense of awe, with their intricate and interwoven branches that always evoke the thought of a root system reaching out into the universe. It was also on that trip, in Tanzania, where from the mti wa mzeituni, Kiswahili for Olive Tree, that his first piece from wood was created, a Masai walking stick. His passion for woodworking and design is reflected in each unique piece he creates. The process always begins & ends with the piece of wood, its features, quality of the bark, knots, branches, it’s perfect imperfections. Each step forward, every cut that is made fully informs and directs those that come after.
